Two Large coin silver spoons, circa 1810-1820, marked “J. Foster.”  Kovels’ shows John foster working in New York from 1811 to 1817, Winchester, Virginia from 1817 to 1825 and Martinsburg, Virginia from 1827 to 1835.  Monogram on older spoon is “POD” in block letters.  Condition is excellent and the length is 9-1/2 inches.  Weight is 1.4468t oz.  The second spoon has monogram of “JAD” and is also 9-1/2 inches in length.  Weight is 1.9290t oz.  This spoon has additional marks of an eagle and sheaf of wheat with the “J. Foster.”
