This classic creamer and sugar, marked “E Lownes” for Edward Lownes of Philadelphia, PA, who Kovels shows working from 1806 to 1833, is one of the finest coin silver works of the period.  The oak leaves and acorn motif around the center is extraordinary as is the grape engraving in the upper part of the pieces.  The sugar has a flame finial on the lid.  There are a few minor dents that are difficult to locate on the sugar and the creamer is in near perfect condition.

Height of the sugar is 10 inches and the square base is 3¾ inches on each side.  The creamer is 6¼ inches in height and the base is 2⅝ inches on each side.
