Old Salem, North Carolina teaspoon, marked “I Vogler,” has the quintessential Vogler eagle on the back of the bowl.  Very good condition.  John Vogler was born in Friedland, N.C. in 1783.  He moved to Salem, N.C. in 1802 where he married Anna Maria Kunze.  He was a gunsmith and silversmith.  He is considered by many as North Carolina’s most famous smithsmith.
