Baltimore, Maryland sampler made by Anna
Mary Christabell O’Brien at age eight in 1844.
The border is a strawberry pattern. The alphabet is done four times. The last two patterns of the alphabet are
done in the same type of lettering.
“d’s” and “b’s” appear to be backwards in three situations.
The following verse is shown at the bottom
of the sampler. “Remember now thy
creator in the days of thy youth. Anna
Mary Christabell O’Brien, in the eighth year of her age. Baltimore 1844.”
Two small holes are present in the lower
left bottom of the sampler. Color is
still present but faded. The frame
appears to be modern but shows some age.
It looks good with the sampler.
