Sampler by R. Bryant.  On the back of the sampler there is a genealogical “Individual Record” showing Rachel Bryant being born in Burke County, Georgia in 1771 and dying in Columbia County, Georgia in 1826.  Rachel is said to have married William W. Entrekin in 1786 in Burkes County, Georgia.  The information is shown to be submitted by Carole Imes, 206 Mockingbird Lane, Winter Springs, FL 32708.

The sampler has the alphabet set out twice and then the name R. Bryant 8.

If the genealogical information set out above is correct, the sampler would have been made in 1779.  The style of the sampler conforms to that date.

The sampler is approximately 7 inches high and 5⅞ inches wide.  The frame is relatively new and measures 7⅛ inches by 8¼ inches.
