Mahogany Hepplewhite liquor box (circa
1790) with inlay on the interior edges and on the outside top. Probably made in Philadelphia, New York,
London or another city with comparable furniture makers working in the best of
the Adamesque, Sheradan-Hepplewhite style.
The secondary wood is not exposed for viewing.
On the interior, there are four
crystal glass liquor decanters that appear to be from the late 18th
century. Each decanter is nine inches
tall with stopper and three and one-half inches wide. Three match and one is slightly different.
The condition and patina of the
mahogany and inlay is excellent with no evidence of repairs.
